Can Women's Political Power be Measured?
Is it possible to measure women’s political power around the globe? What distinguishes countries with more women in power from those with less? Do quotas work?

This month, Women Rule caught up with Gwen Young, director of the Global Women’s Leadership Initiative and the Women in Public Service Project at the Woodrow Wilson Center for International Scholars. WPSP is getting ready to publish its first-ever Global Women’s Leadership Initiative Index, measuring women’s roles in governments around the world. Read below for a sneak peek at their findings.
