Policy Specialist, United Nations Development Programme (UNDP)
Pelle Lutken's Story
Pelle Lutken is currently serving as Policy Specialist with UNDP Headquarters in New York. Pelle is specialized in Governance & Peacebuilding with a particular focus on core government functions, including in fragile and conflict-affected settings, and on implementing a rights-based approach to public service, including through promoting diversity in public institutions. Pelle is leading UNDPs work on the global UNDP GEPA flagship initiatives on strengthening women’s access to decision-making in public service.
Prior to his current role Pelle headed the UNDP Jordan Governance and Crisis Prevention Unit (2011-13) and served as a Governance Analyst with UNDP Syria (2010-11). Before joining UNDP, Pelle worked on International Labour Standards as a Technical Officer with the International Labour Organization (2008-10) and as a consultant with responsibility for corporate-NGO partnerships and social innovation strategies for the Social Business Company in Copenhagen (2007-2008). Pelle started his career with Danida, the Danish Agency for International Development Cooperation. He has a Postgraduate Degree in Corporate Social Responsibility and International Development, and speaks English, Spanish, French, Danish and basic Arabic.
