As former Secretary of State Madeline Albright famously stated, “there is a place in hell for women who don’t help other women.” Breaking Barriers – Strategies to Succeed in Public Service will be an opportunity for established female leaders to reach out to those emerging within their fields, and hopefully provide the foundation for a network in Brussels to continuously connect women who can help each other- and ultimately their global community.

This event, held in conjunction with the United Nations’ 67th regular session of the General Assembly, will begin with a welcome from Barnard President Debora Spar along with Prime Minister Yingluck Shinawatra, the current Prime Minister of Thailand. President Atifete Jahjaga, Kosovo’s first female and youngest president, will give the keynote where she will discuss the importance of cultivating women leaders at the highest levels of government.
